Group Not Working
Bot not responding in groups? Follow these troubleshooting steps.
1. Check Privacy Mode
Most common cause. Make sure Group Privacy is disabled in BotFather. Send /mybots → Select Bot → Bot Settings → Group Privacy → Turn off.
2. Re-add the Bot
If the Bot was in the group before you changed Privacy Mode, you must remove and re-add it. This is a Telegram limitation — Privacy Mode changes only take effect when re-joining.
3. Check @Bot mention
In groups, you must @mention the Bot to trigger a conversation. Make sure you're using the correct Bot username and the message includes @BotName.
4. Check if Bot is online
Send a message to the Bot in private chat to see if it replies. If private chat also doesn't work, the Bot itself has issues — see "Bot Not Responding".
5. Set as admin
While not required, setting the Bot as a group admin can resolve certain permission issues, especially in Supergroups.
