Group Chat Setup
To use CookAI Bot in group chats, you need to disable Privacy Mode in BotFather first. Here's the complete setup process.
BotFather Setup Process
Open Telegram and find @BotFather
Send /mybots
Select your Bot
Click Bot Settings
Click Group Privacy
Click Turn off (disable privacy mode so the Bot can read group messages)
Critical step: If the Bot is already in the group, you MUST remove it first, then re-add it. Privacy Mode changes only take effect after re-adding!
Add the Bot to your group chat
Recommended: Set the Bot as a group admin (for message deletion, etc.)
Test by @mentioning your Bot in the group
Why Disable Privacy Mode?
Telegram's Privacy Mode is enabled by default — the Bot can only receive /commands and direct @mentions. After disabling it, the Bot can read all group messages, enabling proper @Bot conversations.
Tip: As an admin, the Bot can delete its own messages (e.g., overly long replies) to keep the group tidy.
